A calm, confident start to your journey into parenthood!

Welcoming your first baby is a time filled with excitement, questions, and many new experiences. At Collective Wisdom, I provide personalised birth doula support to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported from pregnancy through to birth.

Together, we will complete four comprehensive antenatal education sessions, designed to build both your and your birthing partners knowledge and confidence. You will learn about labour and birth, decision making tools, comfort measures and pain relief for labour, postnatal preparation and breastfeeding.

With continuous emotional and practical support we can prepare for a pregnancy, birth and postnatal experience aligned with your values.

You do not have to figure it out by yourself, we can do it together!

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother and her family before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the most satisfying birth experience possible.

There is extensive research supporting that a doula’s care remarkably improves physical and psychological outcomes for both mother and baby. Being supported and informed during pregnancy and birth aids in decreasing the risk of birth trauma. Doulas have a positive impact on the well-being of the entire family.

Your Birth Doula

As a birth doula, I accompany women in labour to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience.  I have completed training through DONA International and Lamaze International.

As your doula, I will draw on my professional training, knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and as needed, before and during your labour.

I can provide reassurance and perspective to you, your partner and/or support team, make suggestions for labour progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques for comfort.

As your doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or hospital.

Before Labour

I will meet with you and your partner and/or support people 2-3 times before labour to become acquainted, to explore and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns, to discuss your birth plan and to plan how we might work best together.

I also want to know your own best ways of coping with pain and fatigue and how you and your partner or support people foresee working together. As your doula I am not there to take the place of your partner or support people in labour, but to assist in supporting you all.
